Mark T. Kelder
Mark, the President of Energy Insurance, is a lifelong Lexingtonian. He has been with Energy Insurance Agency since 1985 and has a broad range of insurance experience, from Contractor Insurance and Bonds, Workers Compensation, and Mining, to Deductible and Retention Programs, Directors and Officers Liability, Cyber Liability, and Professional Liability.
Mark graduated from the University of Kentucky’s College of Business. He is a member at Pax Christi Church and serves on the board of directors for the Florence Crittenton Home. Also a father of three, Mark enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, watching UK sports and traveling.
Regional Vice President
Wess is a CIC and CLCS and has a broad insurance background with roles as an Agency producer, Marketing Director, Sales Representative with a National Carrier and since 2013 with Agency Network of Kentucky (ANK) as Regional Vice President. He has primary responsibility for the growth of the network through the recruitment of high quality agencies both existing and start-ups as well as responsibility for the Business Insurance Advantage (BIA) program which is designed to assist agencies in growing their commercial lines book of business.
Wess graduated from the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics. He is a member Southeast Christian Church and serves in many volunteer capacities in the community such as Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce. Wess enjoys spending time with family, playing golf, watching motor sports, flying and the outdoors.
Ben is a 1979 graduate of Western Kentucky University. He started his business career as a certified public accountant and then spent 23 years as the controller and general manager of a luxury automobile dealership in Lexington.
Ben joined Agency Network of Kentucky in 2010 and has utilized his business experience to improve the quality and efficiency of the services provided to ANK member agencies. Along with the efforts of a dedicated and talented staff, Ben has seen the volume of profitable premium grow 50% in the last five years.
Agency Development Field Specialist
Karen brings a wealth of experience to her position, having been involved with independent insurance agencies for more than 20 years. She has been an agency manager, producer and customer service representative, making her very familiar with the challenges and opportunities in the insurance industry. In 1990 she received her resident agent license for Property, Casualty, Life and Health insurance. Karen has been with Agency Network of Kentucky (ANK) since July, 2011. For 7 years she held the position as the Network Development Associate and was the primary contact for personal lines business. As of July, 2018, she took on a new role as the Agency Development Field Specialist.
Karen is a native of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, and a member and deacon at the Dry Ridge Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She graduated with honors from Northern Kentucky Technical College and received an Associate Degree in Applied Technology with an emphasis in Accounting and Administrative Assistant and was an active member of the Professional Business Leaders of America (PBLA). Karen enjoys spending time with family and being a mother to two wonderful young men. She also enjoys biking, hiking, kayaking and snow skiing.
Commercial Lines Placement Specialist
Danette Brown joined Agency Network of Kentucky (ANK) as the Commercial Lines Business Development Associate in September of 2015. Her primary responsibility is to help member agencies place commercial business by assisting in the underwriting and submission processes. In addition Danette acts as a mentor for the agents, working with them to develop their prospecting and marketing skills to identify productive opportunities.
Danette brings a wealth of knowledge to her position and has 13 years commercial insurance experience in the roles of Commercial Property/Casualty Underwriter and Renewal Underwriter for a National MGA. She holds a resident agent license for Property & Casualty Insurance.
Lea Ann Coleman
Executive Vice President
Lea Ann is an Executive Vice President for Energy Insurance and the Agency Network of Kentucky. She has been with the company since it was founded in 1982. She has more than 30 years of Commercial and Personal Lines insurance experience. Lea Ann graduated from the University of Kentucky and is also a proud member of the March Madness Marching Band.
Personal Lines Placement Specialist
Jennifer joined Agency Network of Kentucky (ANK) as the Personal Lines Placement Specialist in July, 2018. She has 16 years of experience as an Independent Insurance Agent/CSR in Kentucky with a non-resident license in Ohio. She is very familiar with the markets and the challenges in the insurance industry today. In 1997 she received her resident agent license for Property & Casualty.
Jennifer is a resident of Williamstown, Kentucky, with her two children. Jennifer studied business at Interactive Learning Systems and received a certificate in 1992. She enjoys spending her leisure time outdoors.
